Year 2023 Christmas Party (Wuraola Gold Foundation)

Following extensive consultation and consideration, and as part of our efforts to reinforce our unwavering commitment to operating more efficiently and widely in alignment with our vision and mission, subsequent to a thorough restructuring of our Governing Board, Affiliated Partners, and other layers of the entire Management Team, our team organized a special event termed “2023 Christmas Party”.

This event, held at the Children’s Amusement Park in the heart of Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, Nigeria, on December 23, 2023, strategically coincided with the Yuletide period. This season is marked by heightened exchanges of pleasantries, acts of love, and gatherings aimed at reflecting on achievements and preparing for the upcoming year. The decision to hold the event during this time was motivated by the desire to reach out to the less privileged, particularly children, including orphans and vulnerable individuals, as well as widows. This initiative aimed to defy social barriers and instill a sense of belonging and celebration among them, underscoring their importance in society.

The event comprised various activities:

Sensitization on Career Paths and Capacity Building: A session was conducted for the benefit of young children, emphasizing the importance of career development and providing guidance for proactive parenting, particularly aimed at elderly women, most of whom were widows.

Quiz and Games: Children participated in a quiz designed to evaluate their academic performance and provide a platform for showcasing their talents. This activity aimed not only to assess their progress but also to inspire them to aspire to greater heights.

Donation of Educational Materials: Recognizing the importance of education and the challenges faced in accessing learning materials, we distributed items such as exercise books, pens, pencils, and math sets to support their educational journey.

Relief Materials for Mothers: In appreciation of the mothers’ contributions and to ease their burden during the festive season, personal effect clothing materials and food items such as rice and dry fish were distributed to each individual.

Ethical and Spiritual Counseling: Selected mothers were tasked with providing guidance and moral teachings to the children, emphasizing ethical conduct and imparting spiritual insights through teachings from scriptures and prayers for the nation and humanity.
